Allright, it's all there. I've got pictures collected from our recent travels to Philadelphia, London and Cairo. I've divided the trip into two photo pages. One covers Philly and London while the second one concentrates on Cairo.

Look for pictures from Reid's stateside birthday party, complete with fullscale cake demolition, in the next few days.

I've culled from our hundreds of photos of Reid's trip to Cairo a tight batch of images that I think tell the story of our boy's globetrotting adventure. I've begun writing a little narrative and I think the whole thing will be up and live tomorrow. I've made it my goal to make sure that this amazing collection of Reid-history gets online as soon as possible. Check here soon for three dozen pics of young master Reid conquering the Pyramids, celebrating his first birthday and wresting enormous fruit!

Sorry that Hardlyborn has been dark for a little while. I have a ton to fill everyone in on, and a ton more of the primary driving force behind this website, pictures of Reid.

First and foremost, though, some explaining. My last post here was around about June 25th, I believe. The week after that was a hectic one, as we finalized preparations for two weeks of mass chaos. First, K, Reid and myself embarked upon the Northeast Corridor to the wedding of Reid's aunt, my sister. After a splendid evening ceremony and some dancing and sparklers (the wedding was on Independence Day), we prepared for phase two.

The next afternoon, we left for Cairo, via London.

We were approaching Reid's first birthday. And with that approach came a recognition from my relatives in Cairo that they had yet to see anything other than digital representations of the newest member of the family. This wouldn't do. A visit by myself, not to mention my son, was long overdue. Since the newlyweds were going to spend some time in Cairo with family on their way to a more traditional resort and beach honeymoon, it became a family adventure. Reid was initially skeptical, but came around to the idea, because we told him about the food.

We celebrated his first birthday with the family who traveled in our large group (there were 14 of us, I believe, counting the little man himself), and then again when we reached Cairo. There is a great deal to tell of our trip, but I'm trying to structure something a little more permanent than a stream of consciousness posting like usual, so be on the lookout for some comprehensive words and pictures action in this space in the week to come.

In the meantime, above is a little teaser. K and Reid, standing in front of a pyramid. In the background, you can see an Egyptian Antiquities policeman standing next to the bottom-most layer of pyramid rock. It's a foot and a half taller than him.
