Last year, when Reid was born, his arrival slightly overshadowed another major family event, his aunt's engagement. Reid's Aunt Alia was engaged on the Fourth of July to Sean, who is now officially Uncle Sean. Just before Reid's first birthday, on the anniversary of their engagement, Alia and Sean got married. They looked pretty cute, didn't they? But Reid still may have stolen the show with his kicky little sailor suit. After kicking up his heels with Nonni during the raucous reception, Reid and a large contingent of his family-members set out on a globetrotting adventure. First stop, London. We spent a whirlwind day and half in London on the way to our final destination. In that time, Reid dragged us to all of the sites, including the Millennium Eye, Big Ben and Parliament.

By the time Reid had convinced a large contingent of Royal Something or Others to march around Buckingham Palace in funny hats, he was pretty tired. Like a seasoned commuter, Reid caught forty winks in the Tube on the way back to our hotel. There, we held the first of several celebrations recognizing his first birthday. Note to other parents: on the short list of bad cakes to give an infant for his first birthday please include Tiramisu. Although delicious, it is made with cocoa, espresso and liquor. Realizing this only seconds before a baby-overdose, we provided Reid access only to the delicious slab of Marscapone cheese that amply anchored this delectable treat. He still shoved it up his nose. Next stop, Egypt!
