No new dad worth his salt can avoid taking a million pictures of the newest member of his family. I am no different, and I've blown one little CD from my camera, simply over-taxing it with frequent saves and uploads. Anyhow, this is a quick compilation of faces Reid has made, largely with his eyes closed, since the fourth day back from being born.
Baby days are bookended with drowsy afternoons spent in one's favorite bassinet. Reid favors falling to sleep on his left side, natch.

The boy spends a lot of time experimenting with tongue placement. Sometimes he keeps it inside the mouth, and sometimes, like here, he keeps it outside. His mother and I are keeping close tabs on the tongue, for obvious reasons.
In this picture and the two that follow, young master Reid appears to enjoy an animated dream. I like to think he's looking for weapons of mass destruction, and turning up nothing but goose-eggs.
Dream voice: The weapons are buried...in your ear....
Waitasecond...there aren't any weapons of mass destruction in my bassinet!
Sometimes it's hard to imagine how small this little person is. Here, deep in sleep, you can see how tiny he is.
Here, in Grandma H's lap, Reid enters a trance-like state, imitating his mother's standard sleep-method: mouth open, staring straight ahead, snoring.
An excellent demonstration of dad's eye view technology (Dad-o-Vision).
Principally, Dad-o-Vision is used to capture images of crying, as in example 1, at left, and drooling on dad and oneself, as in example 2.
Another long day. G-night.
